Positive recommendation Luxembourg School of Business

Friday, September 15, 2017 — The Accreditation Organisation of the Netherlands and Flanders (NVAO) has assessed the Luxembourg School of Business and its MBA programme in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, at the invitation of the Luxembourg Ministry of Higher Education and Research. The review by a panel of international experts resulted in a positive recommendation on both institutional and part-time MBA programme accreditations. Following this advice, the Luxembourg Ministry has now granted the accreditation.

The NVAO is a pioneer in the field of internationalisation and leads quality assurance in several fields. In its own region, the organisation is constantly responding to new developments and questions within the field of education. These developments did not go unnoticed by other countries and regions.

Therefore, the Luxembourg Ministry of Higher Education and Research invited the NVAO to apply its expertise in the assessment of a new private higher education provider. Because the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg does not have an accreditation organisation, it relies on foreign organisations to review their higher education.

The international panel consisted of prof. dr. Walter Nonneman (Belgium), prof. dr. Christian Koenig (France), prof. dr. Celeste Wilderom (Netherlands), prof. dr. Kristiaan Versluys (Belgium), Ms Mary Hayrapetyan (Armenia, student-member). The framework concerned included both Luxembourg criteria and Flemish criteria for new programmes.

The review by the NVAO panel of international experts resulted in an advice to the Luxembourg Ministry. The international panel issued a positive recommendation on both institutional and programme accreditations. The Luxembourg Ministry has now granted the accreditation with some conditions on both the institution as well as its part-time MBA programme.
