NVAO obtained renewel of its registration in European Register

After the international recognition by ENQA, the Accreditation Organisation of the Netherlands and Flanders (NVAO) obtained its renewal of its registration in EQAR. Inclusion in the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education means that NVAO applies the European standards and guidelines on external quality assurance to ensure the quality of higher education. The recognition is valid for five years.

NVAO assesses the quality of higher education in Flanders and the Netherlands. It is bound by European rules in the field of quality assurance. These provide a joint vision on quality assurance and consistency across borders in the European Higher Education Area.

As an accreditation organization, NVAO is also assessed on the extent to which its processes, decision-making and quality assurance system comply with these European Standards and Guidelines. Last spring, the NVAO was reviewed by an international panel of ENQA. With this report, NVAO has applied for and obtained a renewel of its registration in EQAR. Inclusion in this register confirms that NVAO applies European standards to ensure the quality of higher education.

Anne Flierman, chairman NVAO: "The EQAR registration is an important European recognition for NVAO and a support for our employees. Higher education institutions in the Netherlands and Flanders are assured that assessed quality is determined according to European shared principles. "

The recommendations in the ENQA report will be addressed by the NVAO Board.
